One Simple Thing: Peaches
The sweetness of the season—and one easy way to enjoy it.
There’s a moment in summer—sometime between the first homegrown tomato and the earliest yellow school bus—when the peaches are just right.
Fragrant. Fuzzy. Juicy enough to need a napkin. Maybe two.
They are an eat-over-the-kitchen-sink kind of delicious.
And the perfect essence of summer.
It’s hard to improve on a perfect peach, but I’ve found one simple way to make the most of them when the baskets are full and the heat lingers long into the evening.
One Simple Thing: Peaches with Cream and Honey
This isn’t really a recipe. It’s more of a ritual.
Slice ripe peaches into a shallow bowl or halve and grill them for 5-7 minutes to bring out their natural sweetness and carmelize into an unforgettable treat.
To serve, spoon a drizzle of honey over the top, add a splash of chilled cream—or your favorite vanilla yogurt, or yes, even ice cream. It’s summer after all. Add a mint sprig if you want fancy, but honestly, they don’t need a thing.
Enjoy it slowly and savor every bite!
It’s a taste of summer at its finest.
